From Russia to BC – Why “Make the Trip Home” Hits Different
I moved to BC from Russia about five years ago. At first, it was just where I happened to live, but over time, it really started to feel like home. When I came across Destination BC’s Make the Trip Home campaign, it honestly felt super relatable!

What I love about this campaign is that it’s not about perfect Instagram shots or touristy hotspots. It’s about spending a few days here and there really reconnecting with the places that make BC special. Like beaches, little diners, quiet towns and forest trails. It made me think about all the small things that made me fall for this place, like foggy hikes on the North Shore, grabbing coffee on the way through Manning Park or walking along the island coast at sunset.

So this summer I want to make my own “trip home” and visit some new spots and go back to the ones I love. If you’re in BC too, whether you grew up here or moved here like me, you should do the same. Take a few days and fall in love with BC all over again.
